Innovation for Clean Water: Schönborner at WassArena 2026

On April 14, 2026, Schönborner Armaturen GmbH will be represented at the DVGW WassArena (Berlin), presenting a forward-looking solution for water treatment with its poster contribution on the project “PlasWaFil – Plasmonic Water Filter.” WassArena is one of the key platforms for innovation in the water sector, bringing together experts from practice, industry, and research to critically discuss current challenges, exchange perspectives, and develop solution approaches. This is exactly where our contribution comes in: Micropollutants such as PFAS, pharmaceuticals, and microplastics are increasingly challenging operators, pushing conventional treatment methods to their limits. With PlasWaFil, SAG—together with its R&D partner, the University of Potsdam—introduces a new approach. Using plasmonic, light-driven processes, pollutants are not only removed but actively degraded. The result is an energy-efficient and sustainable technology that can be flexibly integrated into existing systems thanks to its modular design. Our goal at WassArena: to showcase innovation, spark new ideas, and engage in direct exchange with users and partners. Because only through dialogue can solutions emerge that meet the growing demands for water quality and environmental protection in the long term.
